Hi! Welcome to my blog. My name is Amy and I’m a group accountant at an asset management company based in Cape Town. I used to keep a blog of my ramblings (here) but decided to go for a more customized theme. I stumbled upon themify and fell in love with it instantly. It allows for a drag and drop builder which is easy to use and no CSS skills are required! The icon images used on this page are from The Noun Project and carry creative commons licenses. They’re great! I will be updating my blog a lot more regularly so while the contents are a bit lacking now, they will soon be populated with my thoughts. Please keep visiting!

Site name explained

I have had a few people ask me what the name of my site means. One in particular says the domain looks “suspicious”. So, I decided to go ahead and bury all the questions and explain them.

Firstly, to understand “Less Than 0011”, you would need to know what binary is. Nothing in-depth, just that 0011 is a 3 in binary. Replace the “Less Than” with “<” and you get “<3”. Cute, right?

Next, “azn” is really just a short form for Asian. Don’t be misguided by all the horrible things said about it on Urban Dictionary. It originated from the internet, as a product of laziness.

“QT” is “cutie” – I was very tempted to add a 3.14 (pi) to it to make it extra nerdy but decided against it. So, to string them all together, you get “an Asian cutie”. That’s me!

What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.
